The following steps are taken into account when electronically transmitting information classified as Unclassified, Service-Private and Confidential according to the sensitivity criteria:

  • When non-classified information is transmitted electronically, it is transmitted in clear text without any processing.
  • It is useful to use secure transmission methods when transmitting Service-Specific information electronically outside the institution. For example, electronic information can be compressed with the Winrar application, and during compression, the file can be encrypted with a password set by the data owner. The encrypted file is then transmitted. The password is transmitted to the other party by telephone or another communication tool.
  • Confidential information must be encrypted in the electronic environment. It is important to use strong and up-to-date encryption methods according to their degree of confidentiality. The data owner decides which method to use in the transmission of confidential information.
